The Mammalian genome is structurally more complex than prokaryotic genome, as mammals are characterized as eukaryotes. Eukaryotes are known to have a more complex genome than prokaryotes, as prokaryotes are very simple organisms, such as bacteria and fungi. Also, functions such as DNA replication in prokaryotes takes place much more quickly than in eukaryotes because the DNA in prokaryotes is not separated by a nucleus, so it is easily accessed and processes such as transcription and translation take place at nearly the same time. The structure of the eukaryotic genome is very complex and processes take time. All in all, as a eukaryotic organism, the Mammalian genome is much more complex than that of a prokaryotic organism.
